Spotlight on Artists:

Hannah Hunter-Kelm

New to the gallery for 2023 is Hannah Hunter-Kelm, and we’re really excited to be working with her and displaying some of her stunning pieces. Hannah creates collages, landscapes and linocuts, as well as being a freelance illustrator and teaching printmaking. She takes inspiration from the outdoors, particularly from wild swimming, which she does as often as she can – and you can see this inspiration in her pieces.

Hannah has created an exclusive collection for the Art Works. For these vibrant collages, she has taken inspiration from familiar local landscapes including the Chevin, Almscliffe Crag, the majestic red kites that we can see soaring above our heads, and Arthington Viaduct, a secret wild swimming spot.

You can take a look at Hannah’s process in the short video below – here you can see how she painstakingly, and with incredible attention to detail, cuts out and layers colours and materials to create visually compelling and rich final pieces. You can see more of her work on display now in our current display.
